Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) has reached a significant milestone with its latest offering, the Tata Sierra, securing a place in the India Book of Records for achieving the highest fuel efficiency over a 12-hour duration.

The record-setting performance was accomplished during a certified test at NATRAX, Indore, where the Tata Sierra delivered an impressive 29.9 kmpl, exceeding the existing national benchmark. The endurance run was carried out on November 30, 2025, between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, with the vehicle driven continuously by the Pixel Motion team, stopping only briefly for driver changes. The achievement was officially verified and certified on the same day.

Powering this feat is Tata’s newly developed 1.5-litre Hyperion petrol engine, designed to combine exceptional fuel efficiency with smooth performance and everyday drivability. Featuring an advanced combustion system, a wide torque band, and a friction-optimized engine architecture, the Hyperion powertrain ensured stable performance and consistent fuel efficiency throughout the 12-hour run.
